Shahriyar Jamshidi was born in 1971 in the city of Kermanshah-Iran. He has a Bachelor of music from Tehran University of Art- faculty of music. His professional instrument is Kamanche (Persian Spike Fiddle), and he has trained with well-known musicians such as Mojtaba Mirzadeh and Ardeshir Kamkar.
He focused on Kurdish music to re-construct old songs of Kurdish people, his people. In 2003, he found the Dilan music ensemble (Derived from the name of Kurdish musician Ghader Dilan). The ensemble has held several concerts in Tehran-Iran. He also has performed at several well-known TV channels including KTV, Norooz and Kurdsat and has been a devoted composer aiming to preserve the ancient music history of Kurdistan.
